New Orleans Workshop Jazzclub is one of the jazz clubs in Norway that has had the longest, continuous offer of weekly concerts through the last 35 years.

The club is one of the most active jazz clubs in the country with concerts on three different stages each week in the Centre of Oslo throughout the year from August until the end of June and outdoor concerts on Saturday afternoons in July at Lanternen (at the peninsula of Bygdøy).

Every Saturday, the club is present at two different stages in Oslo during the afternoon.

You should really experience the exceptional atmosphere in the old premises of the Stortorvets Gjæstgiveri (Grensen no.1) every Saturday at 13.30 – 16.30.

The Oslo Konserthus, in cooperation with New Orleans Workshop, has a series of afternoon sessions in the foyer with free jazz concerts. Every Saturday from 14.00 – 16.00 you may hear the same New Orleans jazz music, but in a little more prestigious environment.

Both the Saturday concerts are free of charge, and represent an excellent way to spend a pleasant afternoon in Oslo.

Every Thursday night, however, the roof is almost lifted off from 20.00 to 23.00 at Hr Nilsen (CJ Hambros plass) by the cream of New Orleans related bands both from Norway and abroad. A faithful audience is always present, and newcomers are always welcome.
There are no strangers there, just friends you have not yet met!…seems to be the slogan of the club.
